11+ in Essex

Could someone tell me exactly what is on the Essex 11+ please?
I can't afford a tutor so will tutor my DD myself but it seems very different to when I did it when it was all verbal reasoning.

Ok, thanks @TheSpiral Is there no verbal reasoning at all?

Not for those schools, but there might be other Essex grammars that have different exams. The English paper has a few questions at the end that are a bit verbal reasoningy - anagrams, that kind of thing. None of that "cow is to calf as dog is to..." that I remember from my own 1980s 11 plus.
(Which led to the excellent practice paper "He is to man as she is to" to which the whole class answered "Ra".)
Two of my children have taken the 11 plus in Essex, we didn't tutor either, one got in one didn't - if you have any questions here or want to message me I am happy to help.

I mean we didn't pay for a tutor, I supported them as much as I could.

@TheSpiral - thank you! And yes, I remember those questions and can understand why the answer was 'Ra!' It is just the Southend schools we are interested in which look like they are all part of the CSSE. Nice to hear of someone not getting a tutor. It seems lots of DD's (Y5) friends have 11+ tutors and some started last year!
