Comments on Bedford School boarding

Hello

I am trying to register my boy at Bedford School for Year 10 next year as boarder, since it is a boy school, am not sure if bullying is a matter at the school and if so, how well does the school manage it?

Would also appreciate any comments on this school, good or bad, many thanks in advance!!!

Bedford school is a fabulous school. I have a dc there and he has thrived since joining in year 9. He is also a boarder, I can only speak of his experience in his house. Lovely HM no stories of bullying (when there has been an incident of unkind words spoken, he reported it and it was stamped down on quite heavily). I have heard no bullying stories about other houses either. Very switched on head, Mr Hodgson who very much promotes ‘well being’ & ‘taking care of mental health’.

We recently formed a parent/school focus group to discuss how to raise teenage boys. Matters such as ‘respect for others’, ‘consent’ are all issues being discussed to ensure boys grow up as decent individuals. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks so much for the sharing, very pleased to know there is no bullying story there. Really hope the my son will be successful in his application. What I heard of applicants face keen competition especially Year 10 places are very limited. Thanks again for the sharing.
