Hiya everyone,
I had my interview for uni yday to start in April for adult nursing. I was just abit surprised about the interview process and if this is normal? I'm worried the way it happened it was so rushed because they know they have no spaces left for me.
She literally said I'm going to ask you 3
Scenarios tell me how you would deal with them and why. I feel I answered them all quite well.
She didn't ask why I want to be a nurse, she didn't ask about me and what I've done previously or nothing like that. It was a virtual interview and she was at home too. I set up a professional setting and was organised for my interview. I'm just so confused.
Did this happen to anyone else?

Everyone getting interviewed at that uni for that course will be asked the same questions. The individual interviewer won’t be deciding what questions to ask. It’s likely there is a fixed scoring system for each question/answer.

And it sounds like a values based selection interview which is well promoted by the nmc. So the idea is to find out if you have the sort of personal values which a nurse should have.

I interviewed for a number of unis and they all differed in their interview process. I went for one that was particularly academic and left feeling utterly battered! They all had professional values embedded somewhere in their interviews and not one asked why I wanted to be a nurse. That’s what your personal statement is for.

I ended up at the very academic uni (just started 2nd year adult). I wish you best of luck. It’s so interesting, such a heavy workload, but I can’t imagine doing anything else.
