DD starting high school and Covid testing

My DD is due to start high school
Tomorrow she has to go in this afternoon to do a test she’s absolutely petrified.
We do regular tests at home but I have to do it for her and it takes a lot of effort to calm her beforehand,
In school she has to do it herself she said she just can’t and also in front of other children.
I have been trying for weeks to get her to do it herself.
I have spoken to school to see if I can attend with her and do it for her but there policy is no parents in the school.
What do I do? What a rubbish way to start high school

COVID testing in school is optional. I had the same issue with DD yesterday (she has extreme anxiety) prior to her starting Yr7. It was a member of the teaching staff on site who saw the issues we were having and told us it was optional, I had previously given consent and I just had to do another form withdrawing consent.

Can you not just tell the school you've done one at home?
I'm in Scotland and all testing for school is done at home

Thank you I didn’t know it was optional I haven’t given consent either and haven’t even been asked for it.
We only got told the timings about it late yesterday.
I asked if we could do one at home and they said no as it’s a “government registered school” whatever that means
So if she goes and she can’t do it they can’t stop her going tomorrow? That would be brilliant I’m aware it’s important to test but we test twice a week at home

I missed the deadline for the consent form and wrote my own one for my DS14 who wanted to go to the school and get tested but they wouldn't accept my consent form, so we just did it at home instead no problems.
