My DC is Year 6 in September. We have just participated in mock exam from a private institution (ksxx) in Birmingham. They provide ranking and marks for all individual parts and whether we can secure a place in grammar school. Just want to know whether the statistics are representative. Any experienced parents can tell? Thank you!

Hi there @phyllis901 - I'm afraid I don't have any advice, but thought I'd join in as we're in a similar position, with our DC having participated in two mock exams in Birmingham, one in June and one last weekend. These were with a different provider, but it sounds like a similar setup, with a ranking and marks for each parts (though it didn't give an indication as to what percentage was likely to score a place!).

Our main reason for doing these mocks was to get our DC familiar with the exam experience and the format of the tests (with the separate answer paper for computer marking). We are happy that this element has worked - our DC was much happier coming out of the second mock than the first, having managed their time more effectively.

Thanks@LetItGoToRuin at least I got some support here. Yes, they are more familiar with the exam settings now. As I heard some said they needed to score around 80%, but the exam provider estimated 7x% will secure a place. I feel a bit nervous, but cannot let me DC know!
