What covid prevention measures is your private school putting place for September 2021?

With the news of all state schools getting co2 monitors, are your private schools purchasing co2 monitors?

To be honest - I haven't heard a word from our prep school and I am not really expecting anything until at least September. Our DCs don't start till the 10th and we generally don't hear much until the week before they go back. I doubt there is any point in CO monitors as it is a tiny school with small classes, and they were able to open all the doors and windows last year to ventilate. Then again, it was their insurance that drove a lot of decisions last year so maybe they will have to have them if mandated by the insurers/government/H&S.

There's only any point in the CO2 monitors if there is also a plan for what to do if they suggest poor air circulation.

The only thing I know so far is that the kids are being brought in a couple of days before term starts for Covid testing - lateral flow I presume. We've had no other details so far.

Ours have been using CO2 monitors all last year.

The DfE COVID guidance for schools is now fairly minimal, focussing on ventilation, washing hands and cleaning. No more bubbles, staggered starts etc. The schools risk assessment should reflect that

Ours has finally released its guidance - so Co2 monitoring along with hepa filters to address ventilation.
