Can anyone recommend a good app for phonics/ reading for a child going into year 2. We have completed "teach your monster to read" it was brilliant but looking for the best level really

It assesses your child to see where they are up to, then puts them at the right spot in the program... goes up to about 13 with reading eggspress and you can usually get a free trial.

Nessy is excellent value too.

Designed for dyslexic students but valuable for any child. Mostly games - again it does a mini assessment to grade the child to the right level and you can also go in and set them area to work on in the admin section.

15 mins a day has really helped our son to progress.

Not just phonics but also grammar, sentence construction etc

Worth its weight in gold.

We did Reading Eggs with ours but by Y2 we had supplemented this with books from Reading Chest, which the DC loves getting through the post.

I use Nessy with many of my students with reading and spelling difficulties. I love it and recommend it to so many people. It has raised attainment and kids adore it.
