Question for appeal people

Hi
We won an appeal for my child to attend local secondary school. We were able to demonstrate high risk of mental ill health due to family situation and protective factors being part of a stable strong friendship group.

They have placed my child in a form without any of the aforesaid stable strong friendship group which the panel agreed at appeal was a protective factor for our child's mental well-being. Obviously I wasn't expecting a whole form with all their friends in, but given the grounds of appeal that was conceded, would it be unreasonable to request being placed in form with one or two of them?

I would be less bothered if it weren't for covid arrangements whereby the year 7s stay in same form group/room all day and teachers come to them.

You can request it, but the school have no duty to comply and the appeal panel will have no say in it whatsoever.

Hopefully those Covid arrangements will change over the summer.

I would certainly ask, and cite the evidence, but as Lougle says, it's nothing to do with the panel. It's quite likely that whoever has sorted the classes has no idea why you won the appeal, so hasn't taken anything onto consideration.
