Day pupils at Rugby?

Our school is suggesting rugby school for our 13+. Both DC are bright and sporty. Our other option could be Bromsgrove school but geographically Rugby is more tricky for us. Does anyone have recent experience of Rugby school? Where else did you consider and what is special about Rugby?

You get great match teas at Bromsgrove but that's all I know about it. Rugby turns out great young adults with none of the snobbery and privilege you can get with other Schools. That's why we like it along with the house system. Experience is VERY house dependent so make sure you meet the House Mistress/Master first and that you like them. Some are better than others and they do everything in houses. Eat, sleep, make friends, compete and meet with their tutor.

Are your children boarders? How well are the day pupils integrated please?

Day pupils are integrated well in normal times. Different with Covid with travelling to and from each day. It makes sense.

Most of the time, they arrive at school from around 7am onwards when they can have breakfast. There is obviously lunch but then they also get an evening meal if they want it. They get their own study as a base with a desk, wardrobe, shelves etc. Only different is that they go home at night anywhere from 5pm to 10pm depending if they have a society, talk, lots of prep to do etc.
