Thinking of doing a home study course - any suggestions?

Since DH has started working nights I have alot of spare time when DS is in bed, so I thought I'd start to think about getting back to education. I just want something easy to start with, more a confidence booster and something to keep my brain from shrinking I contemplated an maths A-level, but I think for a first course having been out of education and ill for so long it might be abit much Just wondered if anyone had done a good one or had any suggestions for something that's good to start with.
Thanks

Open University. It is fantastic. So much to choose from. I have finished my first course and signed up for more. Go browse the website and then post on the student parent forum here for more info on various options, there are loads of us here.
And you can use your Clubcard points to pay for it.

Yes- another OU fan here. Have done 4 courses over the last three years.

They do courses (Openings?) designed to get people who have been out of education a long time back into the swing of things. I hear good things about them.

Take a look at the website.

Another vote for the OU. If you think you can do A level maths you will certainly cope with a Level one course (introductory level).

They also do short courses which are more of a taster although I think you can count them towards a qualification at some point.

If you are interested in maths, for example, how about this one?

Thanks, I'll check out OU now Short course is more what I want I think rather than a qualification just yet.
