Does anyone have good advice for a good pre school from 4-11? My daughter is will be 4 shortly and moving back up north from London. Looking at QE, Cundall manor etc. I don’t mind the track I just want the best school. Thanks

Depending on factors like Saturday school or not, single sex or coed and vague location, I have friends with children who are very happy at the following:

Highfield (Harrogate Ladies College)
St Olaves (St Peters, York)
Bootham, York
Cundall Manor
Belmont Grosvnor, Birstwith

Oh and I personally wouldn’t send my DD to QE, but I know that any criticism is quickly removed so I won’t go any further than that...

I am not bothered on single sex or coed school. Or location I just want the best school. What is wrong with QE? Thanks

Try a search for the school name on here, OP.
You will find threads like this one:

Chapter House, prep school of QE, is really excellent. I would look elsewhere for secondary though.

When you say 'best', what sort of features do you value most in a school?

What sort of place do you think your DD will thrive in?

Looking at the options I don’t want to head in to York centre. I am coming from North Yorkshire. I guess QE and Cundalls are best options. Or any others close to those schools? I value the academics side so want that as top wish.

Read the thread on QE and choose elsewhere

A few years back when I lived near Thirsk I had several friends with daughters at Queen Mary's that were very happy with it.

Oh gosh just read the thread I had no idea!!

I have viewed cundall and viewing Queen Marys next week. What do you think in terms of the better school? It is so hard to make a decision!
