Any Tonbridge exam experience?

Hi All

After my desperate thread earlier in the year and parenting fail (too late to apply for entrance Y8) my son’s prep school did some wiggling and he has now sat exams for Tonbridge and Sevenoaks.

He was too late doing his IES for an unconditional but got an immediate conditional offer for Tonbridge so a small part of journey done.

I know Sevenoaks results are due end of May but has anyone experience of when we may expect Tonbridge?

He may get both or neither and we have a back up plan but he’s feeling the pressure of waiting already.

When is your son meant to start? We wrote ISEB last November and got the result in January. My son is in year 6 and it is for 2023 entry.

Looks like yours might be a different timeline as it is a late entry but it was about 2 months for us.

Hi we were so poorly prepared he didn’t sit the ISEB until about four weeks ago, completely out of sync with the others. He got the results by email within a few days with a provisional offer so we are hoping he did quite well tho know all the unconditional places were given in January.

This is a September 2022 entry so we may be well out of the usual timeframe. All my fault albeit working crazy hours and barely able to look up.

Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question, but just curious about your post, as they're such different schools. I wouldn't have thought they had a huge amount in common (apart from geography, obviously!), so I'm interested that they're your two alternative options. But sounds like you're not in a normal application situation, and perhaps you've got a clear preference for one over the other. They're both great schools - just very different.

For anyone coming back to this thread. Results came mid May Tonbridge and end May Sevenoaks. Two offers.

@Elsielouise13 , well done to your ds, I remember your original post. Good luck with the decision making, I know dc at both but as others have said very different schools.

So which one did you choose - and why?
