CAT tests

Hi all, so I keep hearing about CAT/CAT4 tests and how you can gauge from the scores what schools you might want to consider for your child if they score a 120+ etc. This all seems to be routinely done at prep schools and used as an indicator of what level of school to aim for. As my DC is at a state school, they haven’t been tested - is there any way of taking these tests on our own, maybe something online or something we could buy that would give an indication of what level they are at? Their primary school doesn’t do anything in terms of prep towards 11+ as you’d expect, so I’m trying to figure it out as I go! Thanks.

Hi you can buy and do a sample Cat 4 test at pretestplus.co.uk which would give you an indication. I think they are about £50.

Following with interest. Also wondering if any state primaries do CAT testing...?
