wow, are they really supposed to know so many words by the end of year 2.

Greensleeves · 05/11/2007 17:33

Are there targets like this for Reception/Year 1? I feel rather in the dark about the whole process, it all seems to be very hush-hush for some reason

LIZS · 05/11/2007 17:39

Reception list is below. They also work towards the Foundation Stage goals

AskSanta · 05/11/2007 17:57

If you check the "here" by hulababy you can see the link to the Government standards for most classes I think.

Reception words on my first list (45 of them). Y1/Y2 is combined list - end of KS1 words.

They don't have to be able to spell them, just read them. Obviously some children will know all of them, someonly a few, and most somewhere int he middle, hopefully knowing as many as possible.

Greensleeves · 05/11/2007 22:01

How did I manage to miss the first list? Sorry!

[idiot]

Hula - can you help me please? My DD is in Year , same as yours, I think.
I'd like to find somewhere that lists ALL the things DD should be able to do by the end of KS1 - ie. targets for maths, reading etc. Is there such a page on your linked website? I have had a look and a click about, but can't see immediately what I'm looking for (probably because I'm not exactly sure what it would come under or look like!)
Thanks for any help!
