Hi
My soon to be 4 year old diagnosed with mild autism is due to start reception in September 2021. We are lucky enough to have a place at sheredes primary in hoddesdon for him (sibling there ) but unlikely to get an education and health care plan . I’m therefore concerned that although sheredes is a great school without an echp he will struggle . I therefore am considering mainstream independent as in my head I have the impression the smaller classes would help . I have spent time researching and am aware that it’s not a given road to success with independent schools . Any personal experience with the above schools I’ve mentioned and their response to address Sen much appreciated.

Hi, just seen your message. My son is in the Preschool at Sherrardswood and will join their Reception class in September 2021. It's a lovely school - the teachers seem very kind and they seem encouraging towards all of the pupils. I'm aware of pupils further up the school having support in relation to learning difficulties and they have a specialist teacher who helps with these pupils. Good luck with your decision and if you have any more questions please post on here.

Hi @Drifting121 i wonder if you sent your son to sherrardswood in the end? My DS is similar to yours, and we are also considering our schooling options. TIA
