Dragon school and houses

We are considering moving our children to the Dragon School in Oxford. We want them to be day pupils but don't really want to live in Oxford itself. Is this possible? Or will the traffic be too much of a nightmare to consider living out? Any insights greatly appreciated

You might manage it if coming in from the North??
It depends how long you want your drive to be in the mornings.

Thanks @houselikeashed
I guess ideally no more than 20 mins!

God no. You’d barely get from cutteslow to north Oxford in 20 minutes in rush hour.

I knew a family of several children who all attended the Dragon. They lived about 20 mins (empty road drive) south of Oxford - and were famous for being late every single a day.

So yes, rush hour traffic in Oxford will be An Issue. I know North Oxford pretty well and wouldn't want to attempt being a day pupil there unless we lived close enough to walk.

20min!! Shock
No.
Sorry.

We live 15 miles away from a school near to Dragon. Google map says 23mins drive. DC weekly boards.

Thank so much everyone - looks like its Oxford, boarding, or find another school!

I thought there were bus services in to the Dragon (our DC are at a different local prep)? Looks as if this is still the case... www.dragonschool.org/admissions-dragon-school/travel-to-school/

So I'd allow at least 40mins from Kidlington, Cumnor, Wheatley.

I used to allow 1hr from Abingdon.
It does vary though. Occasionally I'd fly in and be super early, other times we'd be late.

"I'm stuck on the A34/A40/ring road" will become a familiar phrase for you. Sad
