Hi all
Has anyone else applied to GHS for non standard year entry and told because of covid that the assessment date of 8th Jan I think it was hasn't happened and now they don't know when it will be? This could potentially be months depending on when schools reopen! Does anyone have anymore info. I can't get hold of anyone and we are supposed to be relocating from abroad. V worried. Thank you

At the risk of asking an obvious question, have you emailed the named people in the admissions team? They're probably really busy with the 11+ offers so might be more contactable in a couple of weeks' time.

What years are you looking for your daughter(s) to go into in Sept?

We applied for our daughter non-standard year entry in Junior section. Got the email about cancellation of 8th Jan Assessment date and nothing after that. A little worried too, as other schools are doing online assessment. Not sure if GHS will go ahead with non-standard entry this year. Please keep me posted if you hear anything. Many thanks.

Hi all
Thanks for the replies.
Will let you know if I do hear anything
Apologies for the late replies- I weirdly didn't get any notifications of any group responses to the chat.
I think I'll give them breathing space for a few weeks as they have and are busy with the 11 plus and then touch base. X

I got a message saying it was out of their hands so defo don’t know the exact date but hope it’s soon ! Wonder how many places and how many will apply 😳 x

@Ilovechoc12 thanks for this. How can it be out of their hands I wonder? I'm not sure what will happen really but it's getting quite late in the year! I'm not sure why the online option hasn't been done. I don't know if other schools in the area used them or not but I know that some in other counties did.

I think they want all the girls in school to do the test - maybe to see how they interact in a group?!?!
There is some smart kids but some are shy on zoom?!?!! Who knows. Let’s hope it’s before Easter! And they don’t bin the idea this year 😬 x

GU24Mum · 04/02/2021 12:35

What years are your girls hoping to move into in Sept?

Ilovechoc12 · 04/02/2021 13:32

Yes

Ilovechoc12 · 04/02/2021 13:33

Yr 2 and yr 4

Tigermummy123321 · 05/02/2021 19:48

I know a couple of others and myself. Year 1, year 4. I think it's fine if they don't speak if and when it does happen on zoom because children aren't necessarily used to it remotely and they will know that.

Hi @Tigermummy123321, just to let you know that my daughter had online assessment on Friday. They said they have few more girls to assess and then come back with outcome. Hope this helps. Thanks

WhiteKnightInLondon · 11/03/2021 17:50

I received an email today saying that they were not assessing or offering places for Year 5 as there has been no change in student numbers. Has anyone else experienced that?

Ilovechoc12 · 11/03/2021 18:45

Yes - boo !!!! Today I got the email too
