Year 6/7 - what could we be doing?

DS is currently in year 6 at a prep school. As a result, he's just finished 11+ and is feeling a bit flat. Add in a home schooling timetable that's not a full day, and he's starting to lose motivation. In s normal year, he'd be doing fun activities at school as they've already covered the bulk of the year 6 curriculum to prepare for 11+, but that won't happen for obvious reasons.

However, he seems up for picking his own subjects to study via Bitesize or similar. So, what would you recommend focusing on? I was thinking maths topics that get introduced in year 7 would be quite helpful, just to give him a head start when he gets there. Anything else I should consider?

And to head off the inevitable, yes, we're doing plenty of fun stuff as well - today was spent having a snowball fight and baking cakes. But I work full time so need something to occupy him during the day, and his current level of school work isn't quite doing it, even with extra-long lunches for walks etc.

Would he enjoy trying a language. Lots of options to learn online with apps like DuoLingo or Linguascope. There are also lessons on OakAcademy and Greenshaw(?) Online.

Do you have any instruments he could try or borrow. My son's learning a bit of guitar with SimplyGuitar and there are lots of other online programmes for guitar, keyboard etc.
