I am a terrible worrier and prone to take whatever an "expert" says about my children to heart.
Both my parents are retired teachers and after coming home upset from another parents evening recently my Dad said to me in a very firm tone " you have to stop thinking teachers know it all - you've got more idea about your children than they have".
Dad also has very stong views about the importance of school in a child's life. Yes they need an education, ie 3R's, but there are lots of other things they need to learn, where the example they are set at home will have a much stronger bearing.
Just thought I'd share this, in case it can help anyone else who spends too much time dwelling on what a teacher has said - like I do.
