Any opinion?
My boy yr 9 not very physical and rugby alike....but feel the passion of staff during interview.
Consider joining as boarder... any idea on the activities and boarding life...
Advice and sharing are very welcomed!!

What attracted you there? What other schools are you looking at and does where the school is located matter?
U.K. boarder or overseas?

My DS has got a Promising score for QE Barnet and would be appearing for Reading Boys. We are bit confused in filling choices in the CAF form. Is it sensible to move to Barnet and relocate from Reading or we should prefer Reading boys over QE. The other consideration is my DD will have be appearing for 11+ exam in 3 years time.. Please pour over your suggestions...

How are the support and and care for boarders, WGS appeared not so good right?
Have your DH changed school...? Actually also looking for Pocklington, Stonyhurst College and Bootham School in the north as we are considering moving home up north.

What are his passions? Each school has different strengths.

swak · 11/12/2020 18:00

He like to play music and football. Not very sportive. Probably moving near Leeds / York in summer.. want to find a suitable boarding school for him.
How about Bootham School, will it be the same as WGS?! Appeared good in academic results but school and boarders no not many. Appreciated for any opinion.

I've a close friend whose children have all gone there and can't sing the school's praises enough and it generally has a very good reputation locally

Don't know about Woodhouse, but I can speak for Stonyhurst. We are thrilled with it as a new boarder in SMH, they provide an incredibly inspiring and nurturing environment, all the children are so happy. Covid approach been impressive...

Gives you an idea

Stonyhurst SMH seems also lovey for the environment.
Judging from the campus seems it is the best amongst the four...!!

Sronyhurst is definitely the best of those four, but if it's full boarding you want, why not look a little further? Stonyhurst is good but not a patch on the schools in the Midlands (and the train is great from York, etc).

swak · 18/12/2020 11:58

Any suggestion for those area, not familiar with schools thereat as friends and relatives mostly living at greater Manchester.... & they recommend so.

Stonyhurst is full boarding, but a handful of weeklly boarders....
