Lanesborough school

Does anyone have any children who have been through Lanesborough school nursery and who can give an idea of what the assessment is like please and how competitive it is to get a place? Thank you

My child has just been offered a place that we haven't yet accepted so any information from people who know would be most welcome!

With regard to the assessment there are exams in verbal reasoning, English and maths as well as a taster day where boys meet the heads and music teacher, take part in a team building exercise and various sports and musical activities. They also ask for the most recent school report, a report from the current school and if he has them the latest CAT4 scores. I hope this helps!

One thing I do know about Lanesborough is that the school's average CAT4 score is pretty high, it's doors are definitely not open to all!

I have heard it’s a great school bit obviously nice to hear first hand from parents who have had kids go through the school

My son did the assessment a few years ago and it was very low key I think. No need to prep other than to say possibly that they're going to see someone who's like to get to know them and answer some questions so it's ok to speak to them. The following year they probably look at school readiness a bit more but for nursery the boys are still very young and some won't even be 3.

@Shania1234 - Yes he went and really enjoyed it albeit it was a few years ago now. I wasn't sure at first about sending him every day but he liked that set-up as the boys were all in together every day rather than pre-school where he liked X child but was only in with him/her certains days a week.
