Are there any Indian/Pakistani community in Chesham?

Hi
We are planning to move to Chesham, mainly for grammer schools. We are in Harrow, its densely Asian community here. But all good schools are private. How are the community in Chesham? Mixed? Any Indian/pakistani? Any advice on Grammer Schools? Which primary schools are good?
Thanks

Yes! I live in Chesham and there is a well integrated Indian/Pakistani community here with a mosque. If you are on Facebook I suggest you join the Our Chesham group. Can't comment on schools personally but apparently there are good grammar schools in the area. We moved from Edgware 16 years ago and much prefer it here. It's very friendly here too!

There is a very large Asian community in Chesham as previous poster said. Chesham Grammar obviously and the secondary Modern (Chiltern Hills Academy) is good too.

I know grammer schools are good. But even if you live in the catchment, the chances to get in are tight. Are there any good secondary states schools in the area? If you dont get into Grammer.
Please help i am very confused. Its a huge decision.

If you live in Chesham and pass the 11+ then you would definitely get a place at Chesham Grammar. They have lots of out of county children going there so there are plenty of places. You also have a chance at the two Dr Challoners Schools although that varies between years, but Chesham Grammar is basically guaranteed.

The alternative if you don’t pass is the Chiltern Hills Academy. OFSTED good and getting increasingly better through the years. It used to be awful so suffers a bit from past reputation. Depending on which side of Chesham you are, you might also stand a chance at Amersham School - check last admitted distances. Considering it’s a grammar county, the secondary moderns in that area aren’t bad. They aren’t ones people are falling over themselves to get into the catchments for, but they are definitely decent schools.

Hey guys ,

I am currently in Harrow and Chesham seems good option to move since Amersham is too expensive. Wondering is there any Indian community there ? Also which I should completely avoid ?? Thanks a lot
