Amesbury or Lanesborough school?

We are moving to Godalming in March and applied for a place at Amesbury (Hindhead) for our DS to start next September, all great until we read rave reviews about Lanesborough, Guildford and decided to put him in for the exam. To cut a long story short he was offered a place at both schools which seem to be very different. Can anyone shed some light on either school based on experience? I'm finding the decision very difficult! Is Lanesborough too pushy? What are the facilities like? We haven't had the chance to visit due to covid but the facilities see nowhere near that of Amesbury, any information on the new head would also be appreciated! I'd also love to hear about Amesbury, is it academic enough? Any gripes? What do you love about it?

They are very different schools. Don’t know too much about Lanesborough, obviously town centre and feeds into RGS. Amesbury far more rural, lots of space, good facilities. It’s had a bit of a wobble with a change of Head, but the interim Head is staying on, not sure how long for though as he was previously retired. I’ve heard very positive things about him though.
