My DS is back to reception in England tomorrow and he said he's sad he won't be able to play cars. I thought considering cars are such staple, that they would have some to play with. Is this a Covid thing that they don't or just that they don't have toys like in preschool?
Everyone told me reception was play based with a few chunks of learning thrown in. DS says the 'toys' are learning games (things like counting pom poms picking them up with tweezers) and scavenger hunts for numbers / letters / shapes, which sounds great too. But Ds is big time into make believe and does little adventures with his toys, he's quite quiet in comparison to the few other boys I know his age. I'm sure he will change being at school now too.
