Sounds like a good idea Yorkiegirl. And I am sure many parents may find some of them useful too.

I'll have to try and go through my favourites at school to find some now!

For teaching secondary English I find www.teachit.co.uk invaluable - a huge bank of resources/lesson plans. Obviously vary in quality and usefulness but great for last minute ideas.
Do need to pay a subscription i think - my school pays this so its free at work.

I use teachit, www.sparknotes.com, www.englishresources.co.uk and fret- can't remember the name of the site but if you type fret into google it comes up- they're for saecondary english btw

oooh this can be my challenge for this afternoon....
i can do lots of nice primary ones!

but to begin with, here is an excellent one for parents to help them to understand how maths is taught in ks1 and ks2...

popsycal · 21/10/2004 08:59

helping parents to helps kids with maths

i think we could do with a thread for parents and children to help with their homeowrk
and a second one for teachers - to help with their homework

This is a fab thread. Can someone bump it back up to the top next week for me when it's half term and I have time to think about it!

teachit is free but u can pay to get word resources so they can be adapted. It has some very useful stuff on it and I've even been known to contribute to it now and then!

fee77 · 21/10/2004 19:36

I used to use this a lot - it seems to have changed a bit now, but it has lesson plans written for you and worksheets. I am sooooooooo glad i don't do this any more!

fee77 · 21/10/2004 19:37

Whoops forgot the link - doh!

OOOH my favs list gets longer by the day!!!
Just had ds's Y1 parents evening and he seems very motivated, not like the Jekyll & Hyde act I get at home!!! Perhaps a bit more structure is needed!!! Thanks for these great links and a fab idea about putting them all together on this thread.
