Hello, hope someone can help. I'm studying for a PGCE (post 16) in college. I've secured a teaching placement for one day a week which I'm due to start soon. I have no teaching experience whatsoever. As you can imagaine, I'm nervous but also very excited. So far I've learned about lesson plans, aims and objectives etc. Now I'll be putting them into practice but am guessing not from the first day on placement as I have no idea what they've learned so far or what the scheme of work is even. Please put me out of my misery and tell me they won't be expecting me to teach a whole lesson alone from the word go. I'm guessing I'll be observing, helping the teacher and following their lesson plan in this instance. I'm also confused as to how I can prepare my own lesson plans if Im only there once a week as I'll have no continuity not being there every day. Also, if you have any advice regarding a good teaching portfolio please go ahead! Thank you in advance Smile
