2021 GCSE plans?

I vaguely recollect reading somewhere that the government would be announcing whether there would be exams or some other sort of assessment for next year's GCSEs by the end of October? Can anyone clarify? TIA

Ok maybe I did actually imagine it !!!

I think we are just waiting to hear if the gcse and A level timetable will be shifted. This surely has to be announced soon to allow teachers to take advantage of the timings in their lesson plans.
