Hi, does any of you have children at St.Chris Senior School in Letchworth? I am looking for a Y9 place in September 2021 for my son, who is good at Maths.

Hi Slapukas, I know st. Chris very well. Was wondering how academic your son is? The school has great facilities and most subjects are taught highly but sometimes self-motivation is important as some subjects aren’t as well taught as the rest. English, Maths and all of the Creative Arts subjects are excellent but Languages and Geography not so much!!!! Depends on your sons motivation but he can flourish as some of the leavers go onto Oxbridge and other Russel group unis. Best thing to do is to visit the school online and in person to get your own scope of the school and meet the headmistress. Good luck, I hope you
find the right school for your son!!!

My son went to St Chris and we had to withdraw him in the end. He moved to a local state school. He is bright but sensitive and St Chris seemed too good to be true - and it was. Students are not properly supported, they are left up to their own devices far too often, behaviour at times is dreadful, teaching quality is very hit-and-miss. There are better options than St Chris, don't be taken in.

Thank you for your opinion, Pussycat77. Our son ended up in Perse school in Cambridge. Commuting Hitchin to Canbridge works for him, and he likes the school.
