We accepted a place for our child to start in September 2020 at the Ecole Jacques Prevert, a French school in west London. Because of Covid, we weren’t able to move closer to the school and we don’t feel comfortable taking public transport there (we don’t drive or cycle). We asked for our deposit back but when we eventually heard back (it took 4 weeks) the current head (Sylvie Wanin) said that our decision not to take public transport was our ‘individual choice’ so she won’t return our deposit. We’re pretty sure they managed to fill the place.
Is the school being reasonable? We would definitely have taken up the place if the pandemic hadn’t hit.
