Educational DVDs for primary school age?

Hello all,

Wondered if anyone had any suggestions for educational DVDs for little ones - KS1 in particular.

I’m not looking for literacy/numeracy or anything subject specific, just some broader things e.g. very simple wildlife programs, or about different places in the world, very basic science..... anything really!

I’m certain that this stuff must exist, but I’d like to avoid anything horrifically annoying and cartoonish (for my sake!). We don’t have live TV but can play DVDs.

Any suggestions gratefully received!

Mine liked Coast, the whole Tudor/Victorian/etc farm series, time team (all on YouTube), Attenborough stuff, and also were keen on cookery shows like Nigel Slater.

I used to get a lot of random DVDs in charity shops so had things like 'Americas most scenic drive' which I would never have bought if it hadn't been 50p!
