We are considering a move to Malvern in time for September 2021 and would really appreciate any feedback on schools there. Our children will then be going into yr6, yr2 and reception (eldest girl, two boys) and so are interested in primaries but also secondary as my daughter will be one year off. We would probably choose independent schools (particularly for daughter so she doesn’t have to start a new school in year 6 and then again in year 7) but if there’s a fantastic state schools we’d be able to get places in, that would be great to hear about too. I think we’d like to live walking distance from central Malvern. For secondary I’ve looked at Malvern College and Malvern St James and they both look nice but so hard to tell what they’re actually like without visiting and if there’s an amazing state secondary anywhere in the area would very happily not pay fees! There seem to be two prep schools - the Downs and Abberley Hall - what sort of reputation do these have and are there others to consider?
Any recent knowledge of the schools in Malvern very gratefully received!
