My niece is fond of manips (photo-manipulations) and her Birthday is coming, so me and her mum, my sis, think about the gift related to it. She is 12 so I don't think buying her a Photoshop subscriptions would be a good idea as it may be too complicated and thus boring for her, but maybe there are some other programs or stuff that can be used to make photo manips or photo montage? Here is the example of what kind of pics she likes, too:

Why do you think Photoshop is too complicated, in the first place? Maybe try Photoshop Elements? Or here is the list of alternatives to Photoshop- photoshop-alternative.com/ Basically, any simple photo editor will do, if you don't want it to be PS, they all are easy for the new learners

Oh, and don't forget about Youtube, the teenagers are quick to find the guide videos about the things they are interested in

I think a photoshop subscription would be amazing. You could combine it with maybe a udemy course that teaches her how to use it?

Get her photoshop. It's a fantastically fun and marketable skill.

Photoshop is actually fairly easy once you know your way around it and your only limit with what you can create is your imagination and willingness to learn. The only thing with it is that it's a massive programme that requires a lot of processing memory so you might need to upgrade computer too (you need at least 16gb memory, a decent processor and possibly a dedicated graphics card) but that's probably true of any decent image manipulation programme.

There are YouTube videos and written tutorials galore that show you step-by-step instructions for anything you can think of. Affinity is free or the basic package for cc is £10 ish a month.
