This is weird. Last week my DSs school started an initiative on school yard games and I just read my Mumsnet news and saw a survey about it!
It's actually going really well. The 12 year olds have organised it. They go into the yards with younger children and teach them games and organise them. They are brilliant - no one gets left out and my two DSs (6 and 4) come home every day with a new game (most of which I learnt when I was a kid).
In the space of a week, playtime has been completely changed! And it has started to spill over into the estates with children playing 'red rover' etc. Talk about nostalgia!!
