Is there anybody in that school? Or know somebody there? She will be starting year 9.
I wanted to know if students are really as happy as they seem there. Smile

eeeeaak ......I hear ....major drugs problems!....its more of a sixth form style. Sorry....

Dukes Education have another school (far better for that age group) school in Hampstead - called Heathside. Worth a look and if you've paid your deposit already - as its in the same group - it shouldn't be a problem!

Unfortunately @Barbforster1x is right - awful drugs reputation. Also their facilities are awful for GCSE - not even a science lab!
Sorry :(

Lucinda76 · 18/07/2020 11:56

ps - Heard good things about Heathside though.....

Thank you @Lucinda76 @barbfoster1x ☹️

Hadn't realised it was a while school - only know very arty children who went there for sixth form

They have started 2 years ago with year nine. My DD is very artsy and mature. She is adamant that she wants to give the school a try. We will see. If it doesn't work, Heathside is near... 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hi, I'm curious to know, 18 months down the line, how it went for your DD at Hampstead Fine Arts, joining year 9, if I may ask? Considering same (year 9) for my DD. Thanks for any insights.

@HankeringForSun my DC has a close friend there in Sixth Form and friend was only saying a few weeks ago that she really likes the college, but was glad she went in Year 12 not Year 9 as she sees the younger ones desperately trying to be like the sixth formers instead of their age.

DC's friend is very creative and says the art provision is excellent but 'classical / traditional' music for example is quite poor. They do not have any ensembles or orchestras, so if you DD is musical, she would have to look for that outside of the college.

Thankyou Soma. That's really useful info.

Has the reputation for being a massive party school with a big drugs problem. Be very wary.
