Quick Survey on 2008 Holiday Dates (if you know them )

Dcs go to a Greek Orthodox primary School so we sometimes have slightly different holidays to take into account the fact that the Greek and English Easters don't always coincide. This year however our holidays seem to be hugely different from the rest of our borough (Croydon) I'm just wondering if we're also out of step with the rest of the UK to? I'll admit I'm getting excited at the thought that mine might be off for their Spring holiday and summer half term when everyone else is in school - taking them out places will be bliss

Croydon Spring Holiday is 4th to the 21st April, ours is l8th April 'til the 6th May.

Croydon Half Term is 26th to 30th May and ours is 9th to 17th June (includes inset day I think)

Ours don't seem to match either of those for Spring holiday. Ours is 19th March - 9th April. Half term is 26th May - 30th May. (Some of those dates apparently include inset days)

Easter - 7th April to 18th April
Half Term - 26th May to 30th May
Plus the Easter holiday which is separate this year.

So, same a Croydon. I envy you the opportunity for cheaper breaks, especially the half term one.

Looks like we might be able to go out without fighting through hoardes of other peoples children (i'm so antisocial )

can't afford to go away unfortunately as we're going to Eurodisney in february and camping during what was supposed to be the summer half term - my Mum is paying, she works in a Croydon Sixth Form College and booked it all for her half term which we now find is two weeks before ours....... i've got to broach our head about taking the Dcs out of school during term time now (can't change the dates)

We live in East Herts and the school holidays in neighbouring Enfield are completely different

Our spring holiday is 21st March to 4th April

Half term is 26th to 30th May.

Your summer term is going to be so long - all the children will be exhausted by the end of it!

Easter 21 March - 6 April. (Yes, ridiculous short spring term and horrifically long summer term)
Half term 26-30 May.

I think most UK LEAs have Whit half term based around the bank holiday 26 May.
Easter break seems to vary a lot this year across the country ranging from 15 March right through til 21 April.

Either way I think you're spot on and you will have quiet holidays: definitely ideal timing to avoid the crowds and queues. I'm very jealous!
