Can anyone tell me about Frensham Heights? Particularly the senior school. We are thinking of moving our DD there. We saw it pre lockdown and loved it. But were a bit worried she may not be pushed. She can be a bit hesitant to ask for help.

I have no personal experience of it, and didn't consider it for my children, but know a few people who have sent their children there and without exception they are very happy with it.

Thank you

I have a friend with a DD there in senior school and she’s incredibly happy. The mum gives it high praise indeed. Her DD is v bright and self motivated and wouldn’t have been happy in a pushy, restrictive environment. I get the impression she’s allowed to be herself at Frensham and is now thriving because of it.

Thank you. My only really concern is that DD will not be self motivated.

@Molly500 yes, I can see why that would be a concern but wouldn’t it be a concern wherever she is if that’s her personality? On the other hand if she’s hesitant to ask questions etc being in a more ‘free’ environment may empower her.
It’s so difficult isn’t it? As you never really know what somewhere is like until they’re in the thick of it. Is she not happy where she is? Where else are you looking at?

Our youngest just left there. We loved it. Highly recommend the teachers - and the results my children received were more than I could have ever hoped for. Wonderful learning support and great friends. Will miss it.

A close relative of mine was a Head of Department there for a long stretch, until last year. Previous Headmaster let things run in a very relaxed but efficient, upbeat way. No uniforms, first names to teachers, emphasis on personal growth, artistic and creative flair along with a degree of academic rigour...apparently, the new " regime", like most places, is intent on becoming data and results driven, sadly. Nice location and the facilities have improved, but it's heading toward wrecking its USP, by all accounts

A late bump. Would love to hear what you decided.
