Hello dear mums,
I am new here. I live abroad, in Oman. DD goes to a British school, but because of covid, we'd rather she stayed home in September. She ll be starting year 7. Any online school you recommend. Interhigh and myonlineschooling seem good. We are looking for live lessons which are also recorded, because of the time difference with the UK, and an easy interface for an 11 year old to use on her own. Any advice/ experience is welcome. Thank you
Salalah

Do you definitely want to stay in the British system?

Friends have used Dubai based iCademy and that would solve all time logistics, especially when clocks change in October. I think the 4 hour time difference to the UK over the winter would be really tricky for a year 7.

Thank you very much for iacademy. I will check them out We would like to stay in the British system, though I do agree the time difference will be an issue. That's why we would like a school where they record lessons, so our daughter could access them the following morning

Myonline school is really good, but the only problem is if teachers are sick or off for whatever reason they don't get replaced. Sometimes they will record a lesson for you and sometimes they won't. Having said this, if you can put up with that part of it, then when its running smoothly its really really good. After a year or so the bad outweighed the good for me tbh.

Thank you very much Eveta, that's very helpful.

Were all the lessons recorded at myonlineschooling and interhigh? Would solve the time difference issue. I checked icademy in Dubai, but they have lessons until 4pm, and they don't record it seems

My Online Schooling has deteriorated rapidly and I would not recommend this school. My daughter has endured racism from staff members and a ridiculously high turnover of staff. The owner Tom Crombie and his managers including Euan MacLean and Emily Booth, care about the school's reputation but not what goes on in lessons. Net-schools is so good in comparison and I would recommend this online provider over the frankly, very disappointing MyOnlineSchooling
