I’m trying to put together a definitive list of non uniform schools.

I see the uniform/non uniform debate has been done numerous times so am hoping to just put together a list of schools without a debate, just an information resource.

If you know of a non uniform school please post name, region, level, private/state, especially interested to find any non-uniform schools outside of London thank you.

Maybe she has a child with sensory issues . My child struggles every day with uniform. If she could go to school with no uniform it would make her life and ability to learn much better .

@OxfordMum1983

Oxford has loads Cherwell Phil and Jim’s St ebbs St barnabus East oxford primary Larkrise

Personally I like the ease of no choice, smartness and creation of a sense of belonging that comes with uniform.

That’s fine for non neurodivergent children but for those who have sensory issues it’s an every day struggle and as schools are so hung up on uniform policies trying to get reasonable adjustments is virtually impossible .

Uniform is not a "leveller" and all the other bullshit people spout. Children still know who the poor children are.

When it is day in, day out it does not have the importance that a mufti day has. Mufti day is only so exciting and stressful as they can never normally wear there own clothes.

We seem to be one of the few countries in Europe that has this issue. Maybe we need to look at ourselves and trust our young people more.

I’m used to the uniform approach as had a strict uniform at school when young and it’s a country that has uniform everywhere I think

One of my dc have strict uniform - blazer, tie etc (independent) and others have no uniform

One 6th form - not business casual though didn’t know that

And other primary mentioned here already. I really like the approach and would choose the school over others

@BikeRunSki

Nether Edge Primary has a very flexi type of uniform. It’s a polo shirt and School sweatshirt in any of several colours, and whatever sensible bottoms and shoes - when I lived nearby, this was largely interpreted as joggers and trainers.
I looked at that but seems like now a set uniform & jade only
massiveblob · 16/01/2022 23:32

Most countries do fine without uniform.
I went to state uniform school and it was obvious who was rich or poor. We knew where people lived, what trainers they had, where they went on holiday. However I only realised my new mate was rich when she told me she had a pony!
I moved to a non uniform school. I missed my uniform.
But. My new uniform was just jeans tee shirts snd anything clean

you can take Hampton Court House of your list, they wear an oppressive sports uniform all week, which goes missing all the time! you have to continually buy new stuff- although they seem to have enough in 'lost property' to sell back to the parents at the end of the year! - the worst school! - we left- (not just because of the school sports kit)
