Explore Learning - Cost

Hi All

Has anyone bought Explore Learning to assist home learning for 11+ exams and what is the exact cost per month?

Also is it better than Kumon?

Appreciate any advice.

We tried it for a six weeks about five years ago when DD was preparing for 11+. It was about £120pm which wasn’t good value IMO, I’ve just checked our local website and it is now just under £140pm. Prices may vary by region. They had one 11+ session a week plus one English&Maths lesson so two sessions a week. DD wasn’t learning anything. It wasn’t tailored to the exams she was sitting. It was noisy.

We ended up doing home familiarisation and spent money on mock tests and bond and Letts tests. She passed with flying colours.

We knew those who persevered with EL and they either scraped through or didn’t pass but I think the parents thought it was a silver bullet so didn’t do anything at home which was the main issue. The main winners were the families who had EFL as this did help their DCs. So for some who complement it with a bit of home study it might be beneficial.
