My sons school has introduced this program this year, and I have just been to a parents presentaiton on it.

It seems very well thought through and implemented by the school, but was wondering if any else has expereinced it.

If so..whats your view..?? am curious.

Thanks.

PS... searched and can't find any threads on it anywhere.. apologies if it has been disucssed before.

I am sure it was recommended on another thread a couple of days ago, for home reading. I will see if I can find it. They didn't go into detail though

Can't find the thread. It is hte Ruth Miskin system though isn't it? I know that gets highly recommended around here and you might find more if you search "ruth Miskin"

Your son is very lucky! RWI is superb.

BBC Newsnight videos show how Ruth Miskin's synthetic phonic programme was used to 'turn around' reading at Britannia Village primary school.

...thank you, didn't realise it was called by Ruth Miskin as well.

Searched on that and lots of positive things said about it on here.

The whole school spends an hour on it every morning and the classes are all mixed up according to their reading ability.

Its only in early days but the teachers seem happy with it.

It seems to work well at our school.
