Good schools in FINCHLEY?

Can anyone recommend any exceptionally good primary schools in finchley? We live in crouch end at the moment, and although our local school is v good (coleridge) we desperately need a house and finchley looks sort of affordable, but have no clue about the schools there.

We recently thought about buying a lovely house in hatch end, near pinner. The local school there (grimsdyke) was excellent and the children and parents in the area looked very decent! But DH and I found it too depressing to move so far away from north london...

any other suggestions of other areas where there's a great school?
thanks

I don't know specific schools but generally those in Barnet are excellent. I live near Finchley so any other questions just shout!

hi boo, thanks for replying. Yes Ive heard the schools in barnet are v good. Any that are particularly outstanding (and not too hard to get into?) We'd rather live in finchley as we wanted to be closer to the crouch end area..but will consider moving to barnet if schools are good. So far we are not coming up with much for finchely. It seems that in the area we like, (east finchley) the parents are putting their kids into private schools...

Sorry Varna by Barnet I meant the borough of Barnet as a whole not just Barnet town area. So this includes Finchley.

I don't know of any in particular other than th e ones very close to me (whetstone) but it might be worth looking up the SATs league tables?
