Soccer scholarship

My 16 year old son is keen to do his degree in USA. He is academic with all As in Science subjects and A+ for English with respect of his GCSCEs. He would like to study Psychology with Neuroscience and/or Statistics at Uni.

He plays soccer at national league level.

I wanted some advice with respect on which is the best agency to engage with to get my son a soccer scholarship and a good University to study at in USA for 2021 or 2022.

There are so many to look at that and we do not know which ones are genuine and will deliver what they promise. We started talking with ASM and SRUSA so far.

So your input will be appreciated to guide us.

Speak to www.galined.com

I worked with the owner in the USA for many years and they can point you in the right direction. They also help with the admissions process including essays and exam prep which are essential for the big name colleges. Not sure how much they charge but I would highly recommend them.

Thank-you. Can you pls share the organisation who you worked with.

It was a top US summer camp - they work on college applications with the seniors there. Checking their resumes stack up, working on application essays and tuition for SAT and ACT as appropriate. Kids there get into numerous Ivy League Colleges and spend many years doing the “right thing” to make sure they get in (usually the college their parents went to).

There are literally thousands of colleges with soccer programs - ensuring it covers both soccer and academics is surely of high importance as opposed to just the soccer scholarship?

As an aside, many Brits who go to the US on a soccer scholarship end up staying out there and go onto coaching. Is that a path he would consider?

Sorry, I signed an NDA with the camp. If you Google top US summer camps and then look through the “team” section of their website then you can probably work it out!!!

My son is due to start his US Soccer scholarship this year.. although we are still waiting for the US embassy in London to open to obtain his student Visa! Happy to share the consultant via pm who we went with and who we would highly recommend.
