DS is applying for sixth forms and has to choose his options on the form.

He has a few career routes in mind:
doctor, nurse, physiotherapist, PE teacher, biologist, paramedic, biomedical scientist and biology teacher

Which options are the best for these careers?
Obviously biology. He’s determined he’s doing that. And he says maths (which I agree with). But he’s not sure on the 3rd one.

What subjects subjects would compliment but allow him to be able to go down any of these career routes?

Biomed probably needs Chemistry to keep most uni options open.

VivaLeBeaver · 22/02/2020 19:50

He’d need chemistry I think for medical school.

Xylophonics · 22/02/2020 19:53

I agree chemistry makes the most sense with biology and maths.

KittenVsBox · 22/02/2020 19:54

Bio and Chem essential for medicine. So, Chemistry.

TalaxuArmiuna · 22/02/2020 19:58

chemistry is more important than biology for doctor

bitheby · 22/02/2020 20:07

Everyone else has said it but chemistry for anything medical.

3littlemonsters3 · 22/02/2020 20:43

Thanks everyone. He did say chemistry but he wasn’t sure if this would keep all options open or if he should pick something else.
I think it’s been confirmed now. So chemistry it is.

I'm a Biomedical Scientist, 5 years since I graduated from uni, if you want to ask anything about the career or degree
