Hi everyone,

Our DD sat LEH 7+ assessment in January and is on the waiting list. Do you know from your experience if the list does move or not? Does she stand a chance of getting a place. It's very frustrating. Many thanks.

Hi @beautydaisy,
It is very hard to predict as any movement on the waitlist will depend on

  1. how many of the girls with offers have LEH as their first choice
  2. the number of over-offers they have made this year.
Both of these are unknown (except to LEH of course!). If it helps, I do know a (small) number of girls who will be declining offers from LEH to take up places at SPGS, G&L and some to boarding schools. There are also girls waiting on Tiffin (March 2nd, I think), which will have an impact but whether or not this means the WL will move, is hard to predict. Sorry this isn't more helpful but it is really hard to gauge year to year. If LEH is your first choice, then I would suggest calling their admissions team regularly to show interest and find out from them how likely it is your DD will be offered a place.

OP, you might want to revise your heading as you are 7 not 11 plus. Yes the waiting list will move as the closing date has just passed for acceptances, some of those with offers will stay at their pre-preps that follow on as preps, stay at their state schools or go nearer to home ie SHS, GHS, WHS & Rowan Preps or nearer to London - Bute, LU, CLSG. Let the registrar know you will accept immediately if offered.

Thank you both. Hopefully we will get a positive outcome. We took her to the assessment as an exam practice but our daughter has very much enjoyed the assessment process and is very keen to join LEH. Her motivation and confidence has gone down since she found out that it’s not guaranteed that she will get a place. She is telling me that she doesn’t enjoy her curent school. Now regret taking her to the assessment. Sad.

I have had 2 friends just turn down offers for a year 3 place so you never know. The lists do change a lot

Thank you After8itsgrownuptime. It gives us hope but your friends have probably pulled out before the deadline for accepting.
