Guildhall School Music - Kindergarten

DS1 has place in this class next Sept. It's open to all in the first year, but after that, they select 'promising' students to continue. I just wondered if anyone had comments about the school, and if the selection process for the second year of study is done sensitively (I don't want him to feel upset if he isn't chosen).

Thanks for both your messages. Yes, Yorkiegirl, it is the GSOM in the Barbican, we are lucky enough to live not too far away. We want somewhere that will nurture DS's ability (which is certainly not inherited from me or DH!) gently and not in a stuffy way (the classical music world seems so snooty from an outsider's perspective) and allow him to get hands-on with instruments when he's ready, without putting him under any pressure that might burn him out...and Marina I would really love to hear from you!
