Nat 5 Exams

Hi

First time using mumsnet !! Just looking for advise. My daughter is in 3rd year and is choosing her subjects to do at Nat 5 level next year. At parents night last night the Biology teacher said children had to get at least 80% in march exam or would not be allowed to take Biology ? Is this the case ? I thought all children were entitled to try a subject as long as they were competent. 80% seems very high. School in West Dunbartonshire area

Might be better in the Scotsnet board. Our school doesn't give a mark to be over for taking it as Nat5 but you obviously need a good knowledge of the subject and get a decent mark
