Looking for suggestions for a (structured) gap year. If your DD/DS did a gap year using one of the various companies out there what did they think? Where did they go?
Really appreciate any suggestions! DS keen and we've seen a few online organizations but nothing beats first hand knowledge!

Thank you!

Mine did a cookery course (The Avenue in Wandsworth), a ski season in the Catskills (found via workaseason though the cookery school would also have found something ) and Camp America (she ended up in a sporty camp in the Catskills).

All good and she made some firm friends. Cooking, in particular, has proved really useful at University.

Sorry. Typo. Ski season in French Alps. Summer in Catskills. She earned small amounts, enough to travel in the States for a couple of weeks after she finished and to have a small reserve when starting University. More importantly she learned a lit about working in a team in, essentially, customer facing roles. Her course has lots of group work, so it has stood her in good stead.

She also got the away-from-home partying out of her system, and controlled as she had to get up to make breakfast the next day.

What does your DS want to study at uni? Might be an idea to do something related to that to gain experience. There are quite a few different schemes.
