I am interested to hear from parents. What is life like of a parent who has a son who on probation year to be a chorister. Also, practicalities - how to apply for a scholarship from Choir association, means tested etc? Thank you.

I have a son who has completed his probation as a chorister and one who is an ex-choirister. I think experiences vary depending on the Cathedral School. My children don't board. There also are no girl choristers here, which means a much longer schedule. It is exhausting but they love it.

The school normally send me the Choir School Association forms to fill for the bursary and send them off for me. It is probably best to speak to the school bursar, as the CSA normally send the amount of the fees they will pay direct to the school and then the school deduct this from your bill.
