More House school Frensham. Weekly boarders how do you manage pick ups and drop-offs?

We are seriously considering More House school in Frensham for our DS who has high functioning ASD. We live in SE London so only the boarding option would be feasible as we are not considering moving. How do people manage the weekly pick up and drop off? Do the boys take the train at all? Is there any support with transport by the school? I would need to go back to work full time to afford the fees, so doing a Friday afternoon pick up would be tricky. Would be great to get some insight from current More House parents.
Please no judgment from anyone regarding boarding. We are struggling in finding adequate schooling for our son where he can thrive, so reading about More House has been like seeing light at the end of the tunnel.
Thank you!

Have you called them and asked them? We have visited the school and loved it and I am sure they would answer.

Ps there are coaches but I think only to SW london

They have coaches to Farnham station so he could get back that way on a Friday. The terms are short so you really need to trying about the holidays as well. Calling them is the best idea. Have you started the process with them, we are towards the end and it will have taken about 4/5 months from start to finish!

Thank you, this sounds it could be feasible with the coach to the station. We have only just had an initial phone call and I forgot to ask the question about transport. Currently collating the EP report etc for our application. Also looking at our local options. We just know that DS will drown in a big state secondary. We just want a small nurturing school that gives him a decent qualification..

@suffolkexplorer , can I ask about that 4-5 months? Was it that they didn't have space when you applied, or did your son have to do a long trial? And were you offered a chance to look around the school early on? Thanks!

They had a lot of applicants after the open day in October took about 5/6 weeks to get back to me (but there was a 2 week October half term) then a couple weeks wait until headmaster meeting. Then trial dates couldn't be fitted in before Xmas. However, these timings suited us and they may be quicker for other people. Book onto the open day on Feb as they normally get fully booked well before the date. It is an amazing school and crossing fingers DS likes it. They are looking to help is those boys that have language difficulties although a lot of them also have ASD.
