Prep Schools near Kingston

Hi there, are there any mums out there who's kids go to Holy Cross Prep or Ibstock Place? I am currently weighing up both. I am based in Kingston so Holy cross would be more convenient but we are not catholic. However, I know they accept other religions. Hard to compare the two! Also would Ibstock prep not help prepare for 11+? We would probably be moving by then but never say never.
Thanks

I don't have experience of either but I'd advise you should consider what your destination secondary school is when making this choice. Prep schools do prepare but a large part is done at home too. And do consider traffic as Kingston to Ibstock would be quite a drive everyday!

Thanks! We live just below the park so it’s a 15 min drive through the park but on winter I guess it could be significantly longer traffic depending.

Daughter goes to Holy Cross. Very academic prep school, girls are thoroughly prepared for 11 plus, starts properly from Y3 but things ramp up a bit in Y2. It's very soft and nurturing at reception but it starts to ramp up afterwards and there is a lot of homework. But the Y6 girls get into a really good range of schools, including a couple into Tiffin and quite a lot into LEH, Kingston Grammar, Epsom and Wimbledon High. You need to decide if the "prep" system will suit your daughter and you as it's quite intense. What specifically would you like to know?
